Pourquoi avoir choisi ce modèle Xavier ? Avant tout car c’est une Ferrari ! Depuis tout petit, je suis extrêmement passionné par les voitures au cheval cabré. Une Italienne, peu importe ce qu’on dit, ça fait réellement vibrer.
Mais pourquoi la 308 ? Alors, la 308, car c’est une ligne mythique, on est en plein milieu des 70′s, avec des formes beaucoup plus carrées que les voitures des années 60. Elle reste abordable, pour le moment, tant à l’achat qu’à l’entretien. Je l’ai acquis avant que sa cote ne grimpe en flèche.
Une raison pour une Ferrari ? c’est avant tout un moteur et une ligne superbe. Mieux, sur la 308, tu as un V8 3.0L juste derrière toi, tu ressens et entends tout du moteur. Quelle magie ! Par contre, il n’y a rien niveau aide à la conduite, je pense surtout à la direction assistée. Mais cela fait partie de la magie.
A la base, j’aurai préféré une version européenne, mieux cotée en Europe. Ce fut le hasard quand le marchand me l’a présentée, mais après réflexion, la version américaine a l’avantage d’avoir moins de corrosion qu’une européenne. Et la corrosion, ce n’est pas un détail.
Et puis, les USA étaient (et sont encore) le marché nr1 de Ferrari. Et je pense que bons nombres de 308 y étaient destinées. En Europe, on subissait de plein fouet la crise du pétrole dans ces années-là. Et je préférais avoir une belle vraie version américaine qu’une fausse européenne déguisée.
Depuis 1994, elle n’avait même pas roulé 4.000 kilomètres. Je dis bien kilomètres, car lors de la restauration, le compteur en miles a été changé. Donc, impossible pour l’expert qui l’a examinée de savoir son kilométrage réel. Mais il m’a confirmé qu’elle a peu roulée, même aux USA.
Comment a-t-il pu l’affirmer ? Car les ampoules de phares, la roue de secours et les tapis sont encore d’origine ! Et ce sont des pièces qui ne s’usent qu’avec l’usage, pas le temps. Elle a donc eu 2 propriétaires avant que je ne l’achète.
Mais si il y a bien une chose que je trouve amusante quand je la conduis, c’est de voir les yeux des enfants ! Ils deviennent fou ! Cela me rappelle les premières Ferrari que j’aie vues, et je me dis que je suis peut-être en train de faire un futur passionné de la marque, un peu comme moi, en dispersant la magie Ferrari !
